Learn How To File Chapter 13 With No Money Down

To make it easier on our North Carolina clients, our lawyers offer a no money down Chapter 13 option. Normally when you file bankruptcy, you must pay $310 as filing fees to start the Chapter 13 plan. Now in our office, you can elect to pay the filing fees in installments. This means that you can get your bankruptcy filed fast and for no initial payment upfront. If you can afford to pay the $310 upfront, you can still proceed in that fashion. If you cannot, we give you the option to pay that fee in three monthly installments. This process of paying the filing fees in installments is allowed under the current bankruptcy laws. To qualify for the no money down filing in our office, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You cannot have been dismissed from a previous Chapter 13 plan within the past year.
  • You cannot have more than $1,000 in your checking account at the time of filing.
  • There are no pending foreclosure sales within the next 60 days.
  • You have a source of income that will allow a payroll deduction to take place for the Chapter 13 plan payment.

Bankruptcy laws make it possible to file the Chapter 13 plan for no money down for those people considered unable to pay their fees upfront. Call our office in Durham today to learn more and meet with an attorney.
